About

A selection of Jazz/Funk arrangements of folk melodies from Okinawa, Japan's southern islands.

A compilation featuring jazz-funk, crossover, and big band jazz arrangements of Okinawan folk songs, including works by Kiyoshi Yamaya, which has been highlighted in Diggers Dozen (BBE) by DJ MURO, known as the "King of Diggin'," as well as in the Wamono Groove: Shakuhachi & Koto Jazz Funk compilation on the 180g label. This album marks the latest installment in the Ryukyu Rare Groove series, which originally debuted in 2003 and garnered much attention in Japan.

A must-have for Asian rare groove fans!
