Detroit’s Strata Records only released nine albums through its short history, but despite its slim catalogue, the enigmatic label’s output has become coveted by collectors around the world. Luckily, these priceless rarities have also recently been reissued by BBE, who have not only galvanised Strata’s cult following, but also introduced the imprint to a wide swathe of jazz lovers around the world.

In service of that, BBE asked 180 Proof Records founder DJ Amir to assemble 23 essential tracks from Strata’s archives to tell the label’s story.
