About
Jazz pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto, together with his beloved bandmates Hiroshi Kagawa and Toshio Osumi, revisits an old standard written way back in 1974. Misty was a tender and touching jazz ode to bleary eyes, backed up by trembling brushed drums and ear-tickling double bass. The version that appears on this EP is a re-performance with added cleanliness bestowed unto it almost half a century since it was first released.
Vol. 1 is a collection of ballads and standards centered around "Misty." The reunion session was recorded at the legendary TBM engineer Yoshihiko Kannari's private studio. This is the first album in the new Blues For K series; five other pieces also enswirl the thematic 'Misty'.
