About
Long considered a grail of city pop but only recently reissued on vinyl, Seaside Lovers’ Memories in Beach House brings together three Japanese music icons of the ’80s: Akira Inoue, Hiroshi Sato and Masataka Matsutoya (husband of Yumi Matsutoya), performing under the name Seaside Lovers. All three are master keyboard players and together deliver a collection of harmonically and compositionally lush island fusion. The album is mostly instrumental but includes some light balearic vocals across the 9 tracks. Summer might be over here, but you can always get to the sea with this one. Lacquer cut by Bernie Grundman. — via Label
