About

This is the first collaborative album in 13 years from veteran female singer/songwriter Taeko Onuki and Ryuchi Sakamoto. In 1973, Onuki was a member of Sugar Babe along with Tatsuro Yamashita, during which at the time she first met and performed with Sakamoto. They released Songs, the first urban pop album in Japan in 1975, but disbanded in 1976. In the same year, she made her solo debut with the album Gray Skies. Since then, she has released 26 original albums and is a trailblazer among female singers and songwriters in Japanese pop music with her unique, delicate musical style and vocal prowess.

Together with Sakamoto, their collaborative album Utau is now available on analog vinyl for the first time. T
he live video “UTAU LIVE IN TOKYO 2010”, which has already been released on DVD, is also being released on Blu-ray for the first time. This is the live performance at Tokyo International Forum on December 10 & 11, 2010, the last leg of the tour that commenced on November 18, 2010. — (via Label)
