Originally released in 1973 on the celebrated Three Blind Mice label, Step! marked the debut of bassist Naosuke Miyamoto. Featuring saxophonist Takashi Furuya and other leading Kansai-based players, the album delivers thrilling straight-ahead jazz, balancing power and restraint with rich ensemble interplay. 

Recorded at Aoi Studio in August 1973, Step! has become a revered entry in the TBM catalog, known for its dynamic performances and high-quality recording. This 2025 reissue, supervised by Sony Music Labels, is pressed on 180g vinyl in Japan, remastered and cut by Bernie Grundman, and faithfully reproduces the original package with obi strip and insert. — (via Jazz Messengers)
