About

- The Analog Vault // Essential Listening -

Takayoshi Murota, better known by his stage name Muro, is not just a renowned DJ, beatmaker and designer – he is also known as the King of Diggin’. Celebrated for enormous collection and encyclopaedic knowledge of records, the Japanese selector has been the curator of several phenomenal collections over the years, but few match the calibre of this 2023 effort for P-Vine.

This time, Muro puts together a compilation from one of Detroit’s premiere independent jazz labels, Tibe Records. Best Of Tribe collates some of the funkiest, deepest and most soulful cuts from the Motor City collective’s inventory, that includes five vintage tunes from founder Wendell Harrison (highlighted by “The Wok,” "Belle Isle" and "Ginseng Love"), a pair of Harold Mckinney opuses ("Freedom Jazz Dance" and "Ode To Africa"), and Phil Ranelin’s underrated classic "Sounds From The Village." - The Analog Vault
