This is the first album by Marcus Belgrave, a trumpeter who has worked with Motown Records and Ray Charles' backing band, and was born from a chance encounter with the legendary Tribe Jazz label in Detroit. In addition to Wendell Harrison and Phil Ranelin, who are the founders of Tribe, the album features Harold McKinney, who has his own leader album on Tribe, and Roy Brooks, who has played drums on famous albums by Chet Baker, Horace Silver, and others. and Roy Brooks, a drummer who has been featured on the classic albums of Chet Baker, Horace Silver, and many others!
