Major Lazer is a collaborative project founded by Diplo(aka Wesley Pentz) - the Grammy nominated founder of Mad Decent Records and one of the more pioneering artist/ DJ /record producers of our time , and Switch. Switch left in 2011, but Diplo remained, with additional members Jillionaire and Walshy Fire.

Their music spans numerous music styles, mixing EDM with reggae, dancehall, electronic, reggaeton, house, and moombahton genres.

Major Lazer has released three full-length albums – Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do, Free the Universe, and Peace Is the Mission, released in 2009, 2013, and 2015, respectively.

Peace Is the Mission was preceded by the international hit single "Lean On" featuring DJ Snake and MØ.

The second single from the album, "Powerful", featuring Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley was released simultaneously with the album in June 2015.
