About

This is Lamp's sixth album a three-piece band that has inherited the Japanese pop music of each era and sublimated it into new pop music by sprinkling elements of '70s pop and Brazilian music throughout. This album depicts the mental landscape of a man and woman passing each other in a certain place in a city. It evokes the cold and warmth of winter a nostalgic feeling that everyone has experienced at least once. The jacket features numerous illustrations by Suzuki Oji who was active in the manga magazine Garo in the '70s and was known for his masterpiece Motorcycle Girl. The unique dreamy illustrations resonate with Lamp's music creating a fantastical world.

Japanese pop trio, Lamp, has taken the different eras of J-pop music and sublimated it into their own by sprinkling in the essence of 70's pop and Brazilian music throughout. Their 6th album, Tokyo Utopia Communications, depicts the mental landscape of a man and a woman passing each other in a certain place in a city. It reminds us of both the cold and warmth of winter, a nostalgic feeling that everyone has experienced at least once. The jacket features the illustrations of Suzuki Oji, who was actively contributing to the manga magazine "Garo" in the 70's, having a great influence on young artists and produced many geniuses in the manga world, and is known for his masterpiece "Motorcycle Girl".
