                About
Kuniyuki Takahashi — one of Japan’s leading producers — originally released his debut album We Are Together on cd in 2006. Nearly two decades later, the album is finally seeing a vinyl release to commemorate the 300th title from Mule Musiq.
—
An acclaimed music producer and DJ from Sapporo, in Japan’s Hokkaido prefecture, Kuniyuki Takahashi, has effectively built a career of two decades and counting. The role played by Takahashi in sculpting the face of the electronic genre is noteworthy. His songs do not merely follow prefabricated blueprints. A proficient artist, he has different aliases as he creates different styles of music. Spanning genres like techno and house, his tracks exhibit a versatility reflecting Takahashi’s mastery. A renowned figure in the 21st-century electronic genre, Takahashi had his first album We Are Together released in CD format back in 2006.
His debut album marks a significant contribution foundation of the field. 2025 would witness a resurrection via a vinyl format release of the unique album that Takahashi brewed, “We Are Together”. An event of such magnitude also considers the album as the 300th title released by Mule Musiq, an accomplishment worth commemorating. This re-release will bring forth to a new generation the genius of Takahashi’s creation that marked his journey two decades ago.
As an artistically dexterous individual, Kuniyuki uses monikers based on the musical style he is inclined to produce at a given time. His techno creations are veiled under the name “Koss”, while his dub techno and acid house productions are under “Forth” and his downtempo and drum n’ bass work is released under the alias “Frr Hive”. Each of these artistic alter-egos enables the artist to traverse borders and genres seamlessly, displaying a diversity that solidifies Takahashi’s role as a pivotal figure in the world of electronic music, akin to musical artists like Richard D James and Giorgio Moroder.
Parallel to his solo career, Takahashi also indulged in a collaborative endeavor known as “DRP” – Deutsches Reichs Patent, sharing the stage with fellow artist Tomoyuki Murashige. This collaborative endeavor further emphasizes the range and depth of Takahashi’s musical repertoire. — (via Ghetto Orion)
“Kuni is a true artist an artist that I love and respect. His music displays true emotion and life and when I listen to his music I can feel his soul but most importantly it’s his own music. Kuni thank you for giving our planet your music, spirit and heart peace, love and respect”   — Joaquin Joe Claussell
