Singularity encompasses a variety of meanings. Typically, it expresses something wholly unique. In physics though, it’s defined as a point in space-time that’s infinitely dense. Jon Hopkins’ monolithic 2018 album on Domino seems to be both those things. 

Undoubtedly the most expansive and cohesive record the renowned English electronic musician has ever constructed, this 63-minute ethereal trip functions much like an irresistible black hole, its sheer sonic gravity pulling you into an unknowable cosmos of extraterrestrial microhouse, IDM and ambient textures. Populated by nine lengthy, immaculate tracks - including standouts like "Everything Connected" (which Hopkins refers to as a “massive techno bastard”) and the glitchy suspense of “"Luminous Beings" - Hopkins sweeps you through the eddies of his meticulously composed universe with graceful, psychotropic potency. — (via The Analog Vault)

"In a way, Singularity is the ultimate Jon Hopkins album. It's the one he's wanted to make for the last 15 years, but couldn't until now. The album's big ideas and granular techniques combine in ways that few other artists could imagine, let alone execute. Singularity is often extraordinary; when it's not, its flaws seem to stem from a pursuit of every impulse. The sky is no limit. Immunity, on the other hand, existed within walls, which were to its benefit. Hopkins imagined the album in part as an MDMA-fuelled night out and the comedown that might follow. After the tense highs of "Collider" came the dawn quiet of "Abandon Window."
