Official reissue of the debut album from fabled Japanese folk singer-songwriter/actress/writer Hako Yamasaki, released in 1975. Blessed with a beautifully evocative voice that drives her blue-tinged songwriting - one would assume that Hako Yamasaki was a weathered veteran with a lifetime of heartbreak under her belt when she recorded her 1975 debut on independent label Elec Records (now remastered by WRWTFW Records). 

Amazingly, Yamasaki was only 18 years old when she composed Tobiasu. Indeed, the precocious folk singer was a force from a tender age, crafting rich and lachrymose songs that feel vivid (even if you don't understand the lyrics) and emotionally dense. Accentuated by gorgeous acoustic instrumentation and Yamasaki's potent vocal register, Tobimasu is a melancholic marvel. - Bandcamp
