About
FKJ is a virtuosic multi-instrumentalist and producer with one foot in the new world and one in the old, making soulful, limitless music for a restless, genre-fluid generation. His songs blur jazz, soul, folk, rock and experimental beats that combine intricacy and intimacy. Under the name French Kiwi Juice or FKJ for short, Paris-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Vincent Fenton creates mellow tunes that sometimes utilize live looping techniques and other times blend jazz, soul, and electronic experimentation into new forms. FKJ started out working as a theater sound engineer while teaching himself the basics of music production at the same time. Finding a style within electronic music that melded the pulse of house with smoother organic elements, he and other artists on the Roche Musique label worked toward the development of an electronic subgenre of new French house near the start of the 2010s.
22-23 Live Sessions features 11 captivating live performances from FKJ's global tour, recorded over the past two years at iconic venues and festivals. 4 of the tracks are live renditions of well-known fan favourites, while 7 tracks present unique improvisations, exclusive to specific shows. Each improvisation is named after the location where it was performed, making it a distinct snapshot of that moment. This collection offers fans who couldn’t attend a chance to experience these special performances and hear new music for the first time. — via Label
