About Obedient Wives Club:
Capturing the quintessential Spectorgaze-esque sounds of classic girl-group pop with bittersweet tales of love and loss, Obedient Wives Club is a Singapore-based fuzz pop quintet comprising YinQi Lee (vocals), Keith Tan (guitar), Cherie Ko (guitars, vocals), Sulaiman Supian (bass) and Lennat Mak (drums).

Formed in late 2011, the band have released two acclaimed EPs: the self-titled debut in 2011 - rated one of SEA INDIE’s top ten Southeast Asia Best Indie-pop Releases in 2010/11 - and Murder Kill Baby in 2013, which Rough Trade describes as "Obedient Wives Club have built a massive cathedral of emotion, a group sound that is brooding, washed with shoegaze tones but also pulsing with a beating heart of melancholic female vocals."

Obedient Wives Club’s varied musical tastes run a wide gamut and each member of the group contributes their individual influences to the songs. This collaborative effort culminates in Cinematica, a five-track third EP that will be released on July 14, 2017. Supported by National Arts Council, Cinematica was recorded over 2016 and boasts legendary Singaporean musician Patrick Chng (Oddfellows, TypeWriter), American producer Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair), American mastering engineer Hans DeKline (Pixies, Snoop Dogg), and their own Keith Tan among the production credits.

Melancholia runs in the blood of Cinematica, depicted in various forms across its three anchor singles from a missed love connection in “Baby Bye Bye,” to two clandestine lovers in “Moonlight Rendezvous,” and selfish abandonment in “Factory Girl.” Obedient Wives Club also sheds its fuzz in Cinematica, opting instead to bring in new instrumentation such as strings and horns, showcasing a grown-up Obedient Wives Club with a more confident sound.
