Borne from a place of wanting to bring people together, no matter’s one caste, class or creed.

After many conversations and deliberations over the sheer amount of talent from South Asia in the musical sphere, we decided to start something to celebrate the creativity amongst the region and the diaspora.

"The idea for this project came on one of my frequent trips to South Asia. Witnessing first-hand the talent of the musicians coupled with seeing the excitement of a nascent scene growing from strength to strength, I realised that it wasn’t getting the necessary recognition it deserves.” - Jitwam

So we begun the journey of reaching out to artists, one of whom, Sarathy Korwar, had also mentioned Aaj Kal - a project mirroring our intentions, henceforth the birth of many collaborations to come. This serendipitous meeting lead to the project forming with Dhruva Balram (Aaj Kal), with the addition of a couple of other unlikely souls. - The Jazz Diaries
