They'll be joined by The Analog Vault Selectors for an evening of house, funk, disco and boogie. Music will be going from about 5pm till we close, so it’s a perfect prelude to the rest of your evening.

As always, all are welcome, admission is free and drinks are complimentary, while stocks last. :)

About Toppings:
Hailing from Manila, Toppings (aka Jake Camacho) has emerged as a fresh new face in the Singapore dance music scene.

As co-founder and resident selector of Singapore-based party collective Ice Cream Sundays, he has honed his craft playing to sweaty crowds at pop-up events around the city. He has also taken his sound to notable venues such as Tanjong Beach Club, Camp Kilo, The Great Escape, and Bar Rouge, and is a familiar face behind the decks at underground favorite, Headquarters. While still a relative newcomer in the scene, he has steadily built his reputation playing alongside some of Singapore’s most respected DJs, earning warm up slots for high-caliber international acts including Soul Clap, Jasper James, and Bosq.

With a background in music history, and having played a number of instruments from a young age, his exposure to diverse musical styles and traditions shines through in his eclectic approach to DJing. Rooted in deep, soulful, and lo-fi house infused with disco, funk, jazz and afrobeat, each of his sets delivers a potent blend of dance floor nostalgia, playful experimentation, and — at times — pure, uncut optimism.

The Analog Room OutIn 003 with Obedient Wives Club / Jasmine Sokko / Cherie Ko | 28 Oct 2017

To celebrate the release of their new EP, Cinematica, The Analog Room OutIn series return with local fuzzy girl-pop band Obedient Wives Club (OWC) after a four year-long hiatus. Joining them on the bill will be 2 rare DJ sets from electronic pop artist Jasmine Sokko and OWC's very own Cherie Ko. There will be cocktails by Monkey Shoulder throughout the revelry, while stock lasts! Come by for great live music, drinks, excellent vinyl offerings and great company!

About Obedient Wives Club:
Capturing the quintessential Spectorgaze-esque sounds of classic girl-group pop with bittersweet tales of love and loss, Obedient Wives Club is a Singapore-based fuzz pop quintet comprising YinQi Lee (vocals), Keith Tan (guitar), Cherie Ko (guitars, vocals), Sulaiman Supian (bass) and Lennat Mak (drums).

Formed in late 2011, the band have released two acclaimed EPs: the self-titled debut in 2011 - rated one of SEA INDIE’s top ten Southeast Asia Best Indie-pop Releases in 2010/11 - and Murder Kill Baby in 2013, which Rough Trade describes as "Obedient Wives Club have built a massive cathedral of emotion, a group sound that is brooding, washed with shoegaze tones but also pulsing with a beating heart of melancholic female vocals."

Obedient Wives Club’s varied musical tastes run a wide gamut and each member of the group contributes their individual influences to the songs. This collaborative effort culminates in Cinematica, a five-track third EP that will be released on July 14, 2017. Supported by National Arts Council, Cinematica was recorded over 2016 and boasts legendary Singaporean musician Patrick Chng (Oddfellows, TypeWriter), American producer Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair), American mastering engineer Hans DeKline (Pixies, Snoop Dogg), and their own Keith Tan among the production credits.

Melancholia runs in the blood of Cinematica, depicted in various forms across its three anchor singles from a missed love connection in “Baby Bye Bye,” to two clandestine lovers in “Moonlight Rendezvous,” and selfish abandonment in “Factory Girl.” Obedient Wives Club also sheds its fuzz in Cinematica, opting instead to bring in new instrumentation such as strings and horns, showcasing a grown-up Obedient Wives Club with a more confident sound.
