Outin 014 - Guided Meditation + Daniel Peters [Selector Special]

The 14th edition of our intimate in-store series OutIn saw Guided Meditation (Nigel Lopez) and Daniel Peters take to our decks for a Selector Special. 

The last time these two got together was back in 2016, for the official Daido Moriyama exhibition afterparty at the Singapore International Photography Festival. They were joined by The Analog Vault Selectors for an evening of eclectic selections, making for a journey through numerous windows and alleyways of music throughout. If you've missed it, here is your chance to check it out! 

AV Mix Series -

For the 7th Edition of our mix series, we have Daniel Peters who has been writing about music for close to a decade, occasionally taking the reigns at parties to play a selection of dance floor burners and atmospheric jams. He’ll claim it’s eclectic, but it’s really just all he has.

AV Mix Series -

For the 6th edition of our mix series, we have Nigel Lopez aka Guided Meditation, founder of experimental label Evening Chants and indie label Middle Class Cigars. His moniker Guided Meditation is a channel for him to share his discoveries in the experimental/ambient/electronic side of things.

This October, we're thrilled to present a rare DJ set from the indie-electronic duo, [.gif] :) 

Fresh from soul-stretching tours around the region and the UK, and with projects in film scoring and performance poetry tightly under their belt, we're really excited to see what the duo will bring to the table as DJs. 

Come through for an evening of beats, bops, tunes and company, with support from The Analog Vault selectors.

Tucked in between dark beats, deft lyricism and immersive vocals lies Singaporean indie-electronic duo .gif. Made up of weish and din, the pair started out in late 2012 as a passion project and shared hobby.

Following their debut of ‘saudade’ EP in 2013, the band has performed in London, Manila, KL and Jakarta, and at major festivals such as St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Singapore Inside Out, Singapore Writers Festival, Java Soundsfair, Baybeats, and Singapore Night Festival.

The duo have earned critical comparisons to the likes of Portishead, Little Dragon, Björk, and The xx through both local and international publications like Thump, VICE’s music channel, FasterLouder, Earmilk, Indie Shuffle, JUICE, Nylon, and Bandwagon. The pair often draws from literature, theatre and film in their music, and have most recently launched a critically acclaimed full-length album, ‘soma’.

OutIn 010 – Revision Music 

For the 10th edition of our in-store series OutIn in September, our guests RAH and Senja from Revision Music joined us on the decks for an evening of vibes for all tribes. 

Both RAH and Senja are well-loved DJs in our local dance music community with an undying appreciation for music of all sorts, and firm roots in Hip Hop, World and Bass music. They founded their events and music promotion collective Revision Music as a platform to nurture the legacy of our region’s underground through culture, vibe and music. This fully comes across at their recurring events such as Singapore’s only dedicated Drum n' Bass night Sub City that happens monthly at Piedra Negra, as well as the celebrated bi-monthly music market known as Tribe at Camp Kilo Charcoal Club.
