About
The world's first LP reissue of the only album by the soulful jazz guitarist Cal Green! The blazing guitar sound makes singing unnecessary, and the instrumental jazz funk is the best of all possible worlds!
Cal Green, a jazz guitarist from Houston, Texas, has released his only leader album, "Trippin'With Cal Green". Cal Green is a soul-jazz guitarist who plays guitar with his soul, and this album was produced by the famous R&B pianist Charles Kinard, Tracy Wright on bass, and Billy Moore on drums. The album opens with "Tracy Wright" on bass and "Billy Moore" on drums. Cal Green's original compositions such as "Trippin," which opens the album, and "Sieda," the opener on the B-side, are truly the very best of royal road jazz funk! While maintaining a certain elegance that would not be out of place in a jazz cafe, the guitars sound as if they are on fire throughout the album, making it worth a listen! - P-Vine
